Terms of Use

Last updated October 2026

By creating an account you agree to these terms. They are written to be read.

1. Who can use UPRISE

You must be 18 or older. One person, one account. No automated accounts.

2. UPRISE is not an emergency service

SOS alerts your Circle; it does not dispatch police. In danger, always call 112. Alerts depend on your phone, network, battery and permissions, and may not always arrive.

3. What you can’t post

Knowingly false reports. Anything that names, shows or identifies a private individual as an accused. Threats, hate or incitement. Sexual content involving minors. Content you have no right to share. Impersonation.

4. False reports carry consequences

Filing a knowingly false report leads to a permanent ban and may be referred to authorities. This protects survivors and the wrongly accused alike.

5. Movements target systems, not people

Movements campaign for change from public institutions. They may never target a private person’s home, workplace or family.

6. Moderation

We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these terms or our Community Rules. You can appeal any decision in the app; a human reviews every appeal.

7. Your content

You own what you post. You give UPRISE a limited licence to store, show and moderate it on the platform. You can delete it any time.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, UPRISE is not liable for indirect losses or for content posted by other users.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction. Contact: grievance@uprise.org.in.
